The Story Of Nellie Snork Maiden

NELLIE 2 DAYS AFTER WE GOT HER

In August 2017 we got Nellie. She was listed on a buy and sell website and we could not resist. I had wanted a skinny pig since i saw one in a pet shop around 8years ago, but had always thought they would be difficult to care for in comparison to a hairy pig. 

NELLIE 3 WEEKS LATER

Nellie from the photo on the website was living in the same cage that our hamster lives in. I was desperate to get her so i paid the £5 registration fee to contact the seller early. We arranged to go and see her the next day and i loved her as soon as i saw her. She was so small with no hay or veg and living in a tiny cage with only wood pellets to sleep on, id imagine painful for a piggy with no hair!

4 WEEKS LATER

So we took her home that day it was evident she hadn't really been handled as she was so timid. So we put her straight into her new house on fleece bedding, with some hay and left her alone to settle. As the days went on Nellie began to grow in confidence little by little .  She celebrated her 1st birthday 1 month after arriving (see photo) and she was already looking more healthy and happy. 

WAITING FOR BREAKFAST

Nellie has been with us for 6mths now and she is such a sweet piggie. She has developed her own little character and is always the first one to shout for her food and is always ready for cuddles.
